Halloween 2017

Currently on the road headed back to Florida after a fun and festive week at home. Got a little Jim Croce playing, a handsome husband driving, and a 7-month-old baby napping. I figured why not make the 6-hour trip pass a little quicker and get a blog post up?!
My mom and dad so graciously hosted us this year for Halloween. Last year, we spent Halloween in Florida. Our neighborhood in Florida does a wonderful job at participating in Halloween; however, this year, we wanted Cache’s grandparents to see him trick or treating!
Halloween continues to be my favorite holiday because my parents always found ways to make it special for us throughout our childhood, whether it was chili in bread bowls and hosting my friends for a spooky spend-the-night party or carving loads of pumpkins and spending hours getting our costumes just right. I think they did such a great job with decorating this year, and i’m taking notes for my own house! Did I mention their house lights up orange at night? It’s my favorite!
We had Cache’s snail costume handmade, and I think it turned out really cute! I told myself he’d be crawling by Halloween and a snail came to mind, so it seemed fitting! I thought surely he would fuss in his costume but he took to it well! The eyes on his head are SO, SO GOOD. I am so sad I have to put it in storage already!
It was the perfect temperature for trick or treating – not too hot, not too cold. Even more, we had golf carts to drop us off at houses which was nice, especially with a newborn who got fussy 30 minutes into trick-or-treating. We only ended up with a few pieces of candy, but all-in-all, it was a spooktacular evening with family!
