Cutting Down Our First Christmas Tree + Tabbisocks

Wowza! Cutting down a tree is a lot harder than it looks. Not the actual cutting part (even though we had a dollar tree saw!) but getting TO the tree! OMG, you guys. That snow was up to my thighs! A few steps and we were already huffing and puffing! Fortunately, the snow is not very “wet” so it brushed off with ease.
This was so fun for us. It has been on my bucket list for years and I’m so glad we’re finally able to do it. What a fun memory to have! We learned that when you cut down your own tree, you have to buy a permit. Ours cost $10 (that is so much cheaper than buying at a Christmas tree farm!) and you can only cut in select areas. We drove 30 minutes outside of town just to find our tree! Since we weren’t wearing our snow pants, we decided not to stray too far from the car. Luckily, we found our first real, Christmas tree and toted it home with us. I am so grateful for such a fun filled day!
