Our Wedding Registry

1.24.2013

Since we have a blog, Tyler and I decided not to do an official wedding website. So a few days ago, we added a "Our Registry" tab to the right column of this blog for family and friends! We're super excited about having breakfast in bed on pretty plates and drinking juice out of festive glasses. If any of you are new to this wedding thing (or just like shopping in general) check it out. Maybe it will give you a few ideas on what to ask for! (We still have a lot more to add. Currently, there are no pots and pans!) Below are a few things on our wish list.

What are some things you asked for when you were engaged? Looking back, what would you have added? Was there something you got that you didn't end up using?

My mixer was for sure my favorite thing we got, I use it pretty much every day. Nice pots and pans are another great thing - they are expensive but you can tell a difference! And now I wish we got pretty blue plates like y'alls!

we got those exact mixing bowls and they have been invaluable! love them. we made sure to register for a keurig, but also a coffee maker for when we want to make a whole pot! oh and lots of spatulas! ha

I recently registered too, and had a bridal shower so we got most of the items we registered for! Like you said, it's so nice to finally have gorgeous items to brunch off of! You may want to consider registering for a few of the attachments for the kitchenaid mixer. We have a mixer already, so we registered for the pasta maker attachment and its been lovely for special occasions!

(Sorry, there were typos in my previous comment.)

I hope you get the measuring spoons. In fact, it wouldn't hurt if you asked for two sets. You'd be surprised at how many recipes require multiple tablespoon or teaspoon measurements of hard-to-clean ingredients (so that just rinsing and re-using the same spoon isn't always easy).

We eloped (too many guests lived all over the USA and we couldn't afford the travel arrangements), so we didn't have a registry, but we got some awkward used/hand-me-down gifts. I wouldn't mind if people just genuinely wanted to give us something, but some apparently use weddings as an opportunity to clear junk out of their house.

Just remember to ask for quality pieces. My hubby had a hard time registering for 'expensive' items because he felt it was so materialistic, so we went 'cheaper' on a few things.... sadly, some of them barely lasted us a year! Our knife block gets used SO MUCH and I wish we'd asked for a much nicer one, bc now we need to buy a new one!!

Registering is so much fun!!! :)

love that candle! I knew exactly which one it was before clicking the link :) I too wish we had registered for a nicer knife set, it's one of those purchases you don't want to buy for yourself b/c it can be so expensive.

Your drawings are adorable!! And our favorite wedding gift was our Keurig coffee maker followed closely by a fondue set we bust out every so often. I also would recommend a nice mixer and some quality mixing bowls!

Our favorite wedding gifts were our Keurig and knife set! Strangest gift was from our crazy great aunt... who gave us a sugar bowl... that still had sugar in it... that was who knows how old.

Those pictures are super duper cute!
This has to be one of the most fun things about planning a wedding! My husband and I had a teeny tiny wedding, so we didn't really get to do the whole registry thing, but if I did, I think I would have asked for loads of kitchen gadgets and pretty little things that I wouldn't normally treat myself too :)

I think I would have asked for loads Wedding Photography Ireland  of kitchen gadgets and pretty little things.

Yay, yay, yay!
Finding things you totally want in your house is the most fun thing.
And I totally have those lovely-coloured mixing bowls from Martha Stewart, and use them constantly.

For our registry, I already had a lot of thrifted things, so it was exciting to get "real" pots and pans and towels and such. I am soo thankful for my collection of cast-iron skillets. Most used item in the four months that I've had it.
Can't wait to see what you get!

When is the wedding??

Something we asked for that my relatives asked me why I wanted it: A rice cooker--And I've used it multiple times every week since. I love it. We love rice!

Something I haven't even opened the box: An electric griddle. You know, the one you can cook a lot of bacon or pancakes on? I still think it's a good idea and a useful thing to have, but we've never needed to use it with just the two of us!
